about ari
background
raised on long island, arianna west (ari) is an avid hiker, rock climber, camper, and overall enjoyer of the outdoors. having cultivated a love for nature early on through reruns of the crocodile hunter and natgeo specials, she studied ecology & animal behavior in college and has always sought to serve the environment in her career. her dedication to preserving wild spaces includes promoting responsible outdoor recreation, as she believes nature is a unifying force, and that the outdoors should be shared and enjoyed by all.
goals as an artist
a passion for conserving nature and a deep connection to mother earth underscores all of ari’s work. as a self-taught photographer, ari seeks to capture the beauty of the wild in an effort to preserve an ever-changing & threatened global landscape. climate change has been a major concern of hers since childhood, holding a deep-rooted fear that she may not be able to see all of the beauty earth has to offer before it’s gone. turning to photography as an expression of this, ari aims to:
capture moments that showcase nature in both its grandeur and in its details
emphasize the connection between humans and nature, in both a physical and spiritual sense
inspire a deeper love and overall connection to earth for her audience
travel to places around the world to capture & share beautiful moments with her audience, knowing not everyone has the ability or privilege to access such spaces
